News from the Christians Against Poverty Debt Centre
Serving Falmouth, Penryn & Surrounding Villages
Time has flown by since training with CAP was completed and we went live as a Debt Centre
on 10th August. As we continue through this time of pandemic and hopefully emerge from the other side, many people are likely to require the ministry of Christians Against Poverty to help them emerge from debt.
It is a ministry which uniquely seeks to help the whole person, not just to deal with crippling
debt but also to re-engage with society. It is a ministry which the whole church can be involved
with; prayerfully, and practically through offering your time and gifts of love to help clients
through the early stages of debt recovery. Ultimately, we pray that through the love of God and
his people, CAP may well help many to lead a new life in Jesus.
The exciting news for this month is that we are officially launching our new CAP Debt Centre so
please do set aside the date for a special service of commissioning if you can, it looks set to be a
good night. We are really excited that our new Bishop of St Germans, Bishop Hugh will be with us and he is also delighted that this ministry will be happening within the deanery. We also have a very gifted speaker from Christians Against Poverty, Jen Sweet, who is passionate about the work of CAP, Jen is also the Area Manager for the South West. This is a great opportunity for us to engage with those in great need and to see lives changed.
